Godfrey and Thuman unite in marriage

Shelly and Pete Godfrey of Kilgore are proud to announce the marriage of their daughter Autria Rae Godfrey of Charlottesville, Virginia, to Scott William Thuman of Alexandria, Virginia, on April 12, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Kilgore. The uncle of the bride, Reverend Jack Broadwater of Burton, officiated at the ceremony.

Scott is the son of Pat and Ray Thuman of Scottsdale, Arizona. Autria's paternal grandfather is Peter Godfrey of Longview and her maternal grandmother is Maureen Broadwater of Kilgore.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless, classic-style ivory gown by Allure. The floor-length satin dress was embellished with a silver embroidered and beaded overlay with a natural waist accented with satin ribbon. The bride wore a sheer cathedrallength veil.

The maids of honor were twin sisters of the bride: Laura Godfrey of College Station and Lindsay Godfrey of Kilgore. The flower girl was the bride's niece, Kayla Thuman of Stuart, Florida. The bridal attendants were Miss Sarah Furney of San Antonio; Miss Allen Geeslin of San Antonio; and Miss Molly cooper of Mauldin, South Carolina.

The best man was brother of the groom, Kevin Thuman of Orlando, Florida. The groomsmen were Russell Rothan of Richmond, Virginia; Jake Barber of Orlando, Florida; Dan Hellie of Bethesda, Maryland; and Scott Martz of Oaklawn, Illinois. The ushers were cousins of the bride: Bo Broadwater of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Phillip Broadwater of Longview. The ring bearer was Evan Patterson of Gilmer.

The reception was held at Meadowbrook Country Club in Kilgore, with the following house party members: Miss Stefanie Hodges and Miss Cara Jo Wilson, both of College Station; Miss Billie Ann Maxwell of Austin; and Mrs. Dawn Griffin of Raeford, North Carolina. Flowers were provided by David Reeves of Kilgore.

Showers given the bride were on March 2, 2008 at First Baptist Church Parlor with hostesses Wanda Bittick, Judy Cole, Pam Earley, Donna Galyean, Keri Patterson, and Susan Reinbach; on March 29 in San Antonio, hosted by the bridesmaids; and on April 12 at Meadowbrook Country Club, hosted by Donna Broadwater, Lana Broadwater, and Barbara Godfrey.

Autria is a 2002 graduate of Sabine High School and a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station. She is a Television News Anchor/Reporter and the in-game host for the Washington Wizards in Washington, D.C.

Scott is a 1992 graduate of Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida and a 1996 graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. He is a Television News Reporter/ Anchor in Washington, D.C.

After a honeymoon in Aruba, the couple will reside in Alexandria, Virginia.
