Another big weekend of games in KSA action
Games are played Saturdays at the spor tcomplex on Highway 135. T h iroundup will normally run on Thursdays in the News Herald sports section. Coaches reports are due by 5 p.m. on Monday. You may bring them by the office at 610 East Main Street, or fax them to (903) 984-7462. You may also e-mail them to Mitch Lucas at sports@kilgorenewsherald.com . Reports will not be taken over the phone. Under-6 girls • Chic Chicks vs. Dragon Flies: Hannah Howell, Megan Langford and Madison Alford all scored for the Chic Chicks, and Alford also had an assist. Lexy Smith, Chloe Whipple, Erin Yancy, Gracie Tharp and Madison Roach were defensive standouts. The Chic Chicks are coached by Rita Whipple, who bragged about the girls' passing skills and their teamwork this week. The team is sponsored by Vermeer. Under-8 boys • F.C. Flames vs. Green Goblins: For the Flames, Maison Landaverde and Raul Cedillo each scored twice. Mason Cole and Connor Quinlan also each scored, and other top offensive players were Jacob Rhodes, Brayden Grush and Alexis Castillo. Top defenders were Tony San Juan, Grayson Deshazer (goalkeeper in the second half) and Michael Raymond (goalie in the first half ). The team is sponsored by Martin Gas, and coached by Larry Quinlan and Dion Deshazer. • Axiom Fire vs. Lil' Dogs: Trea Clayton and Caden Noah scored for the Fire, and Johnny Estrella, Caleb Bates, Daniel Wood and Will Shawn all played well on offense. Good defense was played by Khalon Clayton, Hunter Bennett and Austin Gibson. Brian Davis was the goalie. The Fire is coached by Teresa Lopez. Under-10 girls • Lady Tigers vs. Flash: Taylor Black scored four goals for the Tigers, and Rosio Rangel also scored. Alecia Ballard and Samantha Grey contributed on offense, as well, and Kelsey Lumpkin, Geana Seekings, and goalies Kayley Pyle and Gauge Lindsey all played solid defense for coach Brad Provance. |
