Sherrill will perform her musical tribute to Patsy, "Crazy 'bout Patsy" for the first time in East Texas. The show is Tuesday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Dodson Auditorium. Reserved seats priced at $15 and $20 are on sale at the box office now. THE WHITE OAK ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP will continue showing the DVD "Creating Family Moments" at the next meeting on May 13. SATURDAY HEARING LOSS ASSOCIATION OF LONGVIEW will meet Saturday, May 3, 10:30 a.m., Wesley-McCabe Methodist Church, 1115 S. Mobberly. Cindy Armstrong, speech therapist at Good Shepherd Medical Center, will speak on "How the Voice is Affected by Hearing Loss." Captioning and assistive devices will be available. Refreshments will be served. OVERTON has scheduled their annual city-wide garage sale for Saturday, May 3. SUNDAY ANNUAL CHOIR DAY AT MACEDONIA BAPTIST CHURCH, FM 850 E, Overton will be Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Dwayne McAllister and Liberty Baptist Church family of Troup. Host Pastor, Rev. Willie H. Braynt, Jr. FYI COUNTRY PATCHES QUILT GUILD will have their annual Jessica Jones Quilt Show. The free show is held in the Gladewater Museum, 116 W. Pacific Ave, Gladewater. Show days are Friday, May 9 and Sat, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The public is invited to stop by and view antique and new quilts. FRIENDS OF KILGORE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOOK SALE Hundreds of new books are hiding in the Kilgore Public Library basement. Friends of Kilgore Public Library sell hardbacks for $1, paperbacks for 50 cents and magazines for 10 cents. Library hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. THE WOMEN'S AUXILIARY THEY ARE STILL OPERATING THE GIFT SHOP at Laird Memorial Hospital and are still in need of paperbacks. The auxiliary sells the books for 25 cents and transfers the money to a fund which helps buy medicine for indigent or needy patients at the hospital and scholorships for nursing students. Please take new or nicely-used paperbacks to the auxiliary desk in the lobby at the hospital. THE KILGORE COMMUNITY CRISIS CENTER is in need of canned goods. The books are sold to provide prescription drugs for indigent patients and Kilgore College scholarships for students in the field of study. Books may be dropped of at the gift shop. |
