TUESDAY

KILGORE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION FOUNDATION will host the appearance of Sherrill Douglas and her national tour of, "Crazy 'bout Patsy," a musical tribute to Patsy Cline! Sherrill will perform her musical tribute to Patsy, "Crazy 'bout Patsy" for the first time in East Texas. The show is Tuesday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Dodson Auditorium. Reserved seats priced at $15 and $20 are on sale at the box office now.

THURSDAY

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER has been scheduled in Overton for Thursday, May 1 at 9a.m. in front of the Overton Chamber Office located on 121 E. Henderson Str. Congressman Louie Gohmert and State Represenative Chuck Hopson will be attending and encourage the public to join them.

THE KILGORE CHAPTER OF DAV AND DAVA will hold its monthly meeting this Thursday April 24, at 6 p.m. at 622 Kay St. in the Community Center. Veterans and spouses are encouraged to attend. We are also looking for local families whose spouses are overseas.

FRIDAY

KILGORE CHURCH WOMEN will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Friday April 25 at McCary's Chapel United Methodist Church in Liberty City. (From Kilgore, take 135N toward Gladewater. Turn left at the first 4 way stop onto 1252 and left at the next 4 way stop onto Old Kilgore Hwy. The church is 1 1/2 blocks on the right.) All women in the Kilgore area are invited to this luncheon meeting. Ladies are asked to bring sandwiches, salad or dessert if possible. The program will feature contemporary Christian songs performed by Joshua Patterson.

SATURDAY

PIRTLE UMC will have a BBQ Saturday, April 26 from 3 p.m. until 8p.m. Live bluegrass and music and entertainment for the kids. Adults meal $7, kids $3. See advertisement in this paper.

HEARING LOSS ASSOCIATION OF LONGVIEW will meet Saturday, May 3, 10:30 a.m., Wesley-McCabe Methodist Church, 1115 S. Mobberly. Cindy Armstrong, speech therapist at Good Shepherd Medical Center, will speak on "How the Voice is Affected by Hearing Loss." Captioning and assistive devices will be available. Refreshments will be served.
