Enrollment growth hits graduation

For the first time in school history, Kilgore College will hold two spring graduations to accommodate the growing number of graduates and allow more people to attend the ceremonies.

Kilgore College will have 395 students eligible to graduate at the spring ceremony, up from 371 at this time last year.

Both graduations will be held May 9, one at 5:30 p.m. followed by the second at 8:30 p.m. Jerry Long, D.D.S., will speak at both ceremonies.

Long, a former KC student, graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch--Houston and is currently a managing partner of D.D.S. Associates in Houston.

In 1998, Long was named "Texas Dentist of the Year" by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. He is also an adjunct clinical associate professor at The University of Texas Dental Branch- Houston and served for several years as the Deputy Chief of Hospital Dentistry at The Methodist Hospital in Houston.
