Early voting starts Monday Early voting begins at city hall next week in the May 10 Kilgore Independent School District election. Four candidates are vying for the two seats subject to election. David Hedrick is be running for place one against Derreck Borders and Dale Henley will take on incumbent Terry George for place 2. Position one is now held by long-time board member and KISD board of trustee president, George Faber. Faber stated earlier he would not seeking re-election. Henley, who originally filed to run for place one, changed his filing status to run against George in Place two. Early voting for the KISD election will run through May 6. Voting times are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., each weekday, at Kilgore City Hall. Early voting can also be done by mail. The last day to pick up an application to vote by mail is May 2. Mail ballots must be received by May 10. The election will on May 10 will also be at Kilgore City Hall. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The period for canvassing the election will be from May 13 through May 22. |
