Science Investigation camp at KC

Kilgore College will hold a Science Investigation Summer Day Camp June 9-12, offered to students entering the eighth and ninth grades. Students will view staged crime scenes and try to solve them using chemistry and biology lab techniques. The students will learn about DNA samples, analysis, fingerprinting and hair and fiber testing.

The event, sponsored by Kilgore's Ana-Lab Corporation, will feature a speaker from a local law enforcement agency and daily games and prizes.

Interested students will need a referral from their science teacher. Only 40 applicants will be accepted and the cost of the camp is $50. Camp will be held 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. daily and the deadline to apply is May 9. For more information, contact Shannon Sisk at (903) 983- 8243.
