Kilgore Chamber gears up for Taste & Trade Day

Kilgore Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the Annual Taste & Trade.

This marks the ninth year the chamber has organized the Taste of Kilgore and the second year since trade was incorporated.

Carol Hinton, chamber coordinator of tourism, said those who attend the event are in for a treat.

"We have a great contemporary western band, NO I.D., playing for us," Hinton said. "We also have several businesses and restaurants signed up to share their wares."

Taste & Trade kicks off 5:30 p.m. and continues until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 downtown on Commerce Street.

Admission is $7. children less than eight are admitted at no cost.

Restaurants include Bodacious Bar B Q, Chili's, Cindy's Creative Cakes, Jalepeño Tree, Kilgore Cafe, Kilgore Crawfish and Seafood, Lemaire's Catering by Design, Meadowbrook Country Club, Subway, TexStop, Dominoes Pizza and Wal-Mart Deli.

Trade vendors include East Texas Treatment Center, Gabriel Jordan, Guarantee Bank, Kilgore Economic Development Corporation, Kilgore Ford, The Korner Store, Maya & Jordan's Store, Signature Pools, Ta-dah's, The Willows of Kilgore and Manpower.

Vendors' booths are to be judged on decoration. Upon admission visitors will be given three tickets with which they may vote for Peoples Choice.

Restaurants are admitted into Taste & Trade at no cost. Merchants may rent a 10-foot by 10-foot booth space, with a table and two chairs, for $30. An additional $20 rents a canopy.
