      Maude Laird Middle School conducted a lockdown drill on their campus this morning. Principal Jody Sanders, along with Richard Stanley, Kilgore Independent School District resource officer initiated the drill at approximately 9:15 a.m.

Texas unemployment rises
      DALLAS (AP) _ The unemployment rate in Texas rose to 4.3 percent in March. State officials say employers added 13,500 jobs, but more people are out of work too. Unemployment was 4.1 percent in February, which was a record low since statistics have been kept.
