Maude Laird Middle School Twirlers keep on winning

More Twirling Awards Maude Laird Middle School 7 grade twirlers, L. Rachel Wright and R. Victoria Way also performed their 2-baton duet at MA Nationals in fort Worth. In their routine, "Potential Breakup Song", they did exchanges, juggles, egg beaters, and other many 2-baton tricks. They placed 3 bringing home a 2-foot trophy.
The Maude Lard Middle Schools Twirlers attended MA Nationals in Fort Worth on March 29 and 30. They performed in two categories, dance twirl and team twirl. Their dance twirl routine consisted of two batons that included 1, 2, and 3 turns, contagions, and many other two-baton tricks. With this routine, "Soul Finger", they won 2 place bringing home a 2-foot trophy. Their other routine was a team twirl that was with one baton that included many team exchanges, different formations, bow aerials, and juggles. With this routine, "Ain't Nothing Wrong With that", they won 1 place bring home a 3-foot trophy. All together, these middle school twirlers brought home 5 national award winning trophies.

This wonderful group of girls has set a well-known reputation with their advanced twirling abilities. They have been invited to perform at the Relay for Life on April 18, and in the Kilgore Hi-Stepper Spring Show on April 19. they will host their own spring show on Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. in the Maude Laird Middle School Gym. Their show will consist of group routines, duets, and solos with 1, 2, and 3 batons. Admission is free, so come out and see what these girls can do. Their instructor and choreographer is Blair Maxwell.
