RUBY J. BRITTON

Funeral services for Ruby J. Britton, of Kilgore will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Post Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Washington officiating. Burial will follow at Post Oak Cemetery under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Friday evening at Post Oak Baptist Church from 6 to7p.m.

Mrs. Britton was born Oct. 11, 1931 to the late Andrew and Lommie Johnson in Kilgore. She attended Post Oak and North Chapel Schools. She was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church.

She was married to Jimmy Doss, who preceded her in death, she later married Oddie Britton, who preceded her in death in 2007.

She passed away April 7, 2008 at The Willows in Kilgore.

She is survived by four sons, Bobby Johnson, of Longview, Robert Johnson (Velma) of Forney, Charles Doss, of Round Rock, Donald Doss, of Dallas; four daughters, Evelyn Cooper, of Oakland, CA., Glenda Johnson, Martha Mumphrey (Larry) of Kilgore, Marilyn Doss, of San Leandro, CA.; two step-children, Rev. Jimmie Doss (Ruby) Slaton, Jean Webster, of Slaton; two brothers, Lavern Johnson (Lavern) of Longveiw, Leon Johnson, Los Angeles, CA.; sister-in-law, Wilma Johnson, of Longview; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a God-daughter; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
