JOHN WESLEY RAY

Memorial services for John Wesley Ray, 60, of Kilgore will be at two p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the Old Family Home place seven miles south of Kilgore on Hwy 259 at the intersection of F.M. 918. Mr. Ray donated his body to University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Mr. Ray passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008 in Kilgore.

Mr. Ray was born July 10, 1947 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Tom K. and Irene Frances Ray. He was a realist and an optimist all in one. He accepted people for who they are. Mr. Ray was a friend to all and enemy to none. John would help anyone in need, putting your needs before his own. Mr. Ray was a devoted and loving father to his children and even their friends when in need. John was the first to make you smile and laugh even in the toughest situations. Mr. Ray was a proud 28-year pin holder of Alcoholic's Anonymous. John will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Ray is survived by his son John Kindley Ray of Galveston; three step-children Jody Ford of Troup, Melodee Lower and Emmalee Lower of Troup; two grandchildren John Thomas Ford and Andrew Ford of Troup; two brothers and a sister-inlaw Charles and Angela Ray of Kilgore and Delbert Vaught of Tyler; sister and brother-inlaw Rose and Earnest Mc- Fadin of Kilgore; very special great nieces and nephews Scotlyn, Brai and A.J. Hampton all of Kilgore and Delbert Vaught, Jr. of Hallsville; special friends Dee Lower of Troup, Judy Oglesby of Overton, Scott Rogers of Kilgore and Jille Crow of Terrell; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends.

His parents, and a sister Frances Vaught precede Mr. Ray in death.
