Brian Johnson, son of Jeanne and Roland Johnson of Kilgore, has been named one of three Dean's Research Scholars for 2008 at Stephen F. Austin State University. Brian, who is a senior at SFASU, was one of numerous nominees from nine departments of the College of Liberal and Applied Arts. He will be a featured presenter at the inaugural Undergraduate Research Conference at SFA on Friday, April 18, 2008. Brian is a senior History major at SFA and Colin is a senior Communications major at Centenary.

The Roy H. Laird hospital Foundation will be sponsoring a Come and Go Reception Honoring Bob Ellzey, Tammy Welch and Denise McMillan at the Meadowbrook Country Club on Friday. The time will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This reception honors these three for their contribution to Laird Memorial Hospital and the Hospital Foundation for the past several years.

Colin Johnson, son of Jeanne and Roland Johnson of Kilgore, is a senior at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA. He will be leaving for Paris, France on May 12th to complete his International Study component of his Bachelor's degree at Centenary. The topic of his study in Paris is: Americans in Paris: Then and Now.
