By MITCH LUCAS sports@kilgorenewsherald.com

MOVING ON - Kilgore's Courtney Hodgkins (right) shot a 180 over two days in the District 12-4A golf tournament, which finished Monday, and has earned a trip to the regional tournament later this month at the Robson Ranch course in the Metroplex area. The KHS boys were to play the second round of their district tournament today at Crooked Hollow Golf Club in Greenwood, La.
There's a little bit more golf to go, but Kilgore High School will have at least one golfer at regionals.

Kilgore's Courtney Hodgkins qualified individually on Monday for the regional tournament by finishing fourth in the medalist competition in the District 12-4A tournament, which finished Monday at Lakeside Country Club near Marshall.

Hodgkins had the best score for the Bulldogs, posting a two-day 180, good enough to be a regional qualifier.

Regionals will be played at Robson Ranch in the Metroplex area beginning Monday, April 22.

In the team competition, Hallsville was first, and Pine Tree second.

Kilgore High School's boys were fourth in the team competition headed into their second and final round today, to be played at Crooked Hollow Golf Club in Greenwood, La. The Bulldogs were just one shot out of third as the day began, and Chance Fitch, who shot a 77 in last week's first round, was in a tie for third in the individual competition.

Both Kilgore's girls and boys golf teams are coached by Jimmy Williams.
