LETTER TO THE EDITOR

City of Kilgore,

Would you please address the problem your citizens are having with Allied Waste? Because their bill is tied to our water bill, we have no recourse, except this, to combat their lack of service. It's not just my address. The entire city block of South Street between Knowles and Martin (behind Nardis) is forgotten regularly, especially Fridays. Note to Allied: if your people tend not to show up on Friday, hire more people and fire the no-shows!

The City needs to set up a hot line, and citizens need to call it every time their garbage is not picked up. I think it would surprise you. The other idea is for all citizens who have lousy Allied service to write a letter to this paper about it. I think Kilgore News Herald would be overwhelmed.

My main complaint is this. If I don't work, I don't get paid, but because Allied's bill is tied to my water bill, I must pay for lousy service or get my water cut off!

Also, every time I call Allied about this, I get a polite operator who assures me it will be taken care of. It never is. Just before I hang up from the local call being answered? INDIA??? You know someone way off couldn't care less. Just like Allied does locally, apparently.

To be totally fair to Allied, I must praise Ricky Smart. He is my regular route man and he never fails me. It is when he is gone that Allied forgets my street and others I'm sure. Note to Allied, clone Ricky Smart, put him on all routs and you will be a better company. Until then, give the man a Raise
