RUTH DRAWHORN

Annie Ruth Lee Drawhorn returned home to her Lord on April 4, 2008. She was 92. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2007, at the Rader Funeral Home Kilgore Chapel with the Reverend David English officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. She was a member of Kilgore First Christian Church for many years.

She was born February 8, 1916, in Kilgore, and grew up during the East Texas Oil Boom. She married Casey H. Drawhorn of San Augustine, Texas, in 1935. She was widowed in 1963. They had two children, Phyllis Drawhorn Richmond of Shreveport, La., and Vickey Drawhorn Steinhauser of Longview.

Ms. Drawhorn graduated from Kilgore School and later entered Stephen F. Austin State University, where she met her husband. They moved to Shreveport, and she later became an internal medicine nurse. After retiring in 1978, she returned to her family home in Kilgore.

Ms. Drawhorn is survived by four grandchildren: Lori Richmond Greene of West Monroe, La., Shelley Richmond Tharpe of Shreveport, La., Carrie Richmond Patton of Edwardsville, Il, and E. Kyle Steinhauser of Frisco; seven great-grandchildren: Lauren Green, Austin Tharpe, Dillon Tharpe, Haley Patton, Reilly Patton, Ashleigh Steinhauser, and Evan Kyle Steinhauser II; brother Glen Lee and wife Melba of Kilgore, and sister-in-law Leola Lee, widow of Hollis Lee.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William Hollis Lee, mother Mamie Bell Lacy Lee, and father Clause Wayne Lee.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
