Texas gas prices rise again

HOUSTON (AP) _ The records kept coming at Texas gasoline pumps this week.

Regular self-serve prices rose 4 cents from last week to an average of $3.21 per gallon statewide this week, according to the AAA Texas survey released Friday. Nationally, the average price rose 2 cents to $3.29 per gallon.

"Based on crude oil continuing to sell for more than $100 per barrel, it is unlikely lower gas prices lie ahead between now and the Memorial Day holiday weekend," said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau.

The cheapest gas in this week's Texas survey was in Corpus Christi, where regular self-serve prices remained virtually unchanged at $3.14 per gallon. The most expensive gas remained in Amarillo, where the price average rose a nickel from last week to $3.25 per gallon.

These were average per-gallon prices of regular, self-serve gasoline in Texas and nationally, as well as the change from last week, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch released Friday:
