Camp is a native of Mt. Pleasant but graduated from Longview High School. He attended Kilgore College and then graduated from East Texas State University where he was a Business Management major. "So, I sold my business and I am extremely happy to associate myself with an institution that not only has a great reputation, but also has a great group of employees, management and Board of Directors." "I am looking forward to working with the real estate agents of Kilgore and the surrounding area, and especially with the people of this area, assisting them with their housing needs." Camp is married to Ruth Anne, and the couple has two children. They met while students at Kilgore College, and she had a 20-year career as a Special Education teacher in the Kilgore Independent School District and the Irving Independent School District. Their son, Allen, is a student at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. Their daughter, Carol, is a student at the University of Texas at Arlington. Jerry and his family attend First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore where he is an elder and a Grace Presbytery India Task Force member. He is also a member of the Kilgore Rotary Club where he is currently membership chairman and President-Elect for 2009-2010. He serves on the American Cancer Society Board here in Kilgore and chaired the Relay For Life fund raiser for two years. He still serves on the board. He also is a longtime member of the Gregg Home for the Aged board. "Jerry Camp is a great addition to our Citizens Bank team," York commented. "He is such a fine individual who is constantly giving back to his community. Jerry's knowledge of the residential mortgage lending business and his love of people are a perfect match." Citizens Bank is a $265 million independent community bank headquartered in Kilgore. The bank also has locations in Carthage, Center, Kountze, Sour Lake, Humble, Yorktown, Levelland, and has a Loan Production Office in The Woodlands. |
