Daughters of the Republic of Texas, dedicate memorial The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, John Tilley Edwards Chapter, dedicated a memorial marker for Mrs. Clyde Baldwin Shepherd at Mimosa Hall-Webster Cemetery at Leigh on March 19. Chapter members participating in the service were, Chaplain Kay Hilburn, President Phyllis Bidges who gave the welcome, Amy Hilburn who gave the pledges to the flags, Peggy Nader read a scripture and Mrs. Shepherd's daughter Anne Moore unveiled the Texas marker. Many members of the Shepherd family as well as nine chapter members, one prospective member, and four guests were present. A chapter meeting was held at Roseville Bed and Breakfast and luncheon was served. Ten members, two prospective members and four guest attended. The meeting adjourned with the announcement that the next meeting would be on April 16, at Johnny Casey's. |
