FIRST LADY HONORED
Evelyn Bolding added to list of First Ladies of Kilgore

News Herald Photo by Lester Murray Evelyn Bolding was named the 61st First Lady of Kilgore last night in a banquet held at First Baptist Church.
Evelyn Bolding was honored as the 61st First Lady of Kilgore Friday night.

She was introduced by Gladys Crouch, president of the city council of Beta Sigma Phi.

Bolding was a founding member of the Board of Directors of Kilgore Crisis Center. She serves on the budget and finance committee at First Baptist Church and was co-chair of the campaign to raise money for the new fellowship hall.

She is a member and twice president of the Corterie Club and is on the board of the Texas Shakespeare Festival and the advisory board of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts. She has served on the board of directors of Good Shepherd Medical center, the Good Shepherd Hospital Foundation, the American Red Cross and the Cherokee Club.

The new First Lady was active in fund-raising for Laird Memorial Hospital and was co-chair of the hospital's Women Center. She is an active suporter of the Amearican Cancer Society and Relay for Life, American Heart Association, East Texas Treatment Center, Helping Hands, Habitat for Humanity, Kilgore Community Concerts, Kilgore Historical and Preservation Foundation, Kilgore Boys and Girls Club, Highway 80 Rescue Mission and Mercy Ships.

With the sception of two short stints away from Gregg County, she and her family have lived in kilgore since 1961.

Bolding is married to Lloyd Bolding and is the mother of Bo and Jeff Bolding. She is grandmother to Blaine, Bradon, Brooke, Brady, Josh, Jake and Jack Lloyd.
