MINISTER'S MOMENT
Why are you looking among the dead for the living one? Interesting question. We look among the dead for many things. We look for memories, clues, opportunities to pay our respects. But we certainly do not go searching among the dead for living things...or do we? Do you ever find yourself in the dead setting? Sure you do...we all do from time to time. All of us encounter lifeless, joyless, aimless, meaningless, pointless, and useless settings in life. But there's a huge difference between coming across a dead setting, and trying to find life in a dead setting! Folks, you don't go grocery shopping at the jewelry store, or go tire shopping at a fine clothing establishment. Likewise, you shouldn't go looking for life in dead settings. If you are searching for life, then you must go to where life can be found. And there's no greater guarantee than going straight to the author of life himself ... Jesus Christ! Prior to his death, Jesus told his followers that he was going to be handed over to sinful people, crucified, and then raised back to life again on the third day. He mentioned the idea of a cemetery... it was even foretold by the prophets that he would be buried with the rich... but Jesus never told his followers to come visit him at a place of death! Why are you looking among the dead for the living one? Look instead at the promises of the bible. Rather than seeking out wealth and your own popularity for fulfillment in life, look instead into a personal relationship with the Almighty, living God himself! Go to the source... Jesus said, "I have come to give you life-life to the fullest." Better yet, instead of you searching for life, just admit that you don't have it-and let the giver come to you? Blessings...
