Lady Cards rout Gilmer
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

The Sabine Lady Cardinals are 7-9 overall - but they're 2-0 where it counts. Sabine is unbeaten in District 15-3A play after routing Gilmer, 9-1, on Tuesday night in Liberty City. The Lady Cards, coached by Sarah Ricks-Creech, visit Mineola Thursday, a 5:30 p.m. junior varsity start.

Sandy James (a 7-7 record on the mound) went the distance, striking out 10 and walking one. Janell DeFreece and Alex Easley each went 3-for-4; James and Chelsea Headley each went 2-for-3; Cassie Headley went 2-for-4, and Lindsey Bryce went 1-for 4. Easley had 3 RBI, as did Bryce, who had a 3-RBI double.
