KIBA announces banquet Kilgore Improvement Beautification Association is gearing up for its annual banquet. "The banquet is an opportunity for KIBA to review the last year's Beauty Spot, Commercial Beauty Spot and Yard of the Month winners," Carol Hinton, KIBA membership chairman and president elect, said. "Past winners as well as KIBA members look forward to this banquet each year and are eager to find whose yard will be awarded Yard of the Year." According to Hinton, the new KIBA board will also be announced during the banquet. Fallon Burns, Main Street manager, is slated to speak on the Main Street program. KIBA welcomes those who care to attend Tuesday, April 8, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Christian Church Family Life Center, located at 609 East Main St. Banquet fare includes chicken spaghetti, green beans, salad, banana pudding and iced tea. Admission is $10. KIBA continues to maintain and beautify many previous undertakings, including: The Shakespeare garden, located adjacent to the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center on the Kilgore College campus; White Elephant Bazaar, in the historic depot; World Richest Acre Park, on the corner of Commerce and Main streets; and the ampitheater in Kilgore City Park, through generous donations of Kilgore residents and association members fees.
