MONDAY

RUSK COUNTY REPUBLICANS will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Henderson Federal Savings Community Room on North Marshall in downtown Henderson. Guest speakers will be the Republican candidates. Everyone is invited.

The Rusk County Democratic Club will meet on Tuesday, March 25, at 7 p.m. in the community room of Henderson Federal Savings Bank, 130 N. Marshall. The public is invited.

WEDNESDAY

DAUGHTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS, JOHN TILLEY EDWARDS CAPTER will meet March 19, at 11 a.m. for the dedication service for Mrs. Clyde Shepherd at Minosa Hall-Webester Cemetery, Leigh. Luncheon will be at 12:30 at Roseville Bed & Breakfast, Hwy 80. For more information call 903-236-2888.

SENIOR ADULTS IN KILGORE AREA are cordially invited to attend the monthly Young at Heart covered dish luncheon at Kilgore's First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Thursday, March 20. Join us for lunch at 11:45 a.m., followed by entertainment from Mark Fried of Forest ome Baptist Church who will present a musical program.

THE KILGORE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS, along with the Kilgore Municiple Courts will be hosting Fun Day at the City Park in Kilgore City Park, March 15. This is a fund raiser for Relay for Life. There will be activities and demonstrations by the fire and police departments from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cake Walk, Silent Auction. Buy tickets at the park. Start your break with a Fun Day in the Park.

FRIENDS OF KILGORE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOOK SALE Hundreds of new books are hiding in the Kilgore Public Library basement. Friends of Kilgore Public Library sell hardbacks for $1, paperbacks for 50 cents and magazines for 10 cents. Library hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

THE WOMEN'S AUXILIARY THEY ARE STILL OPERATING THE GIFT SHOP at Laird Memorial Hospital and are still in need of paperbacks. The auxiliary sells the books for 25 cents and transfers the money to a fund which helps buy medicine for indigent or needy patients at the hospital and scholorships for nursing students. Please take new or nicely-used paperbacks to the auxiliary desk in the lobby at the hospital.

THE KILGORE COMMUNITY CRISIS CENTER is in need of canned goods. Please take to the office located at 905 Broadway Street. For more information call 903-984- 3019.
