CHARLES "CHARLIE" F. MCCARTHY

Services for Charles "Charlie" F. McCarthy, 78, of Palestine will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palestine. A rosary will be held at 6:30 P.M. Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Palestine. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Charlie was born on September 4, 1929 in Washington, D.C. to Charles and Helen McCarthy. Charlie was a Korean War Veteran and was a member of the Korean Veterans Association which he dearly loved. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a friend of Bill Wilson for 32 years and he was a teacher for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother and an infant son Michael Dean McCarthy. Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann McCarthy of Palestine, his daughter Karen McCullough and husband Doug, granddaughters Kaitlin and Alison of Kilgore, son Chuck McCarthy and wife Laura, grandson Charlie, granddaughter Sarah of Melbourne, FL., daughter Mary Bartel and husband Kevin, grandsons Matthew, Daniel, and Zackary of League City, son Kevin Mc- Carthy and wife Cathy granddaughter Rebecca, grandsons Jacob and Patrick of Chandler, daughter Tricia and grandson Jeremi of Tyler.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
