Rev. Bill Ingersoll, pastor, said the breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. and is open to all men of Kilgore. "We will have a special speaker each morning, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday," said Ingersoll. "The program will last for approximately one hour so everyone will have time to get off to work." The traditional Holy Week series is under the direction of the church's Men's bible Class. Monday's speaker is Rev. Edwin Findley, pastor at Laird Hill Baptist Church. In the 13 months the Findley has been at the church, he has baptized 22 and 53 persons have joined the church by letter. Findley was licensed to preach at age 18 and ordained at 22. He attended East Texas Baptist College in Marshall on a photography scholarship, majoring in Religion and minoring in Christian Ministries. He has been the pastor of five churches and the youth director of two other churches. He and his wife of 20 years, Joyce Ann, have three sons and one daughter Edwin Joshua Findley (25) and Eric Floyd Findley (24), Teya Hollis (36) and Shawn Stickle (30) and eight grandchildren.
Tuesday morning's speaker is Rev. John Woodard, pastor at Centre Presbyterian Church in Elderville. Woodard has been an ordained minister for more than ten years, coming to the ministry after a career in managerial and technical computer systems support and in consulting, marketing, sales and investment brokering. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in management information systems from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. After he left the business world he received a master of divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He and his wife of 23 years, Debbie, have a daughter, Christina. The speaker Wednesday morning will be Fr. Michael Adams, associate pastor at Christ the King Catholic Church. Adams was raised in Olean, a small town in upstate New York. He graduated from St. Bonaventure University and then earned a law degree at St. Mary's University in San Antonio. He practiced law in Dallas and Houston before moving to San Augustine in 1989 where he continued in the legal profession until 2004. In January, 1997, Adams was one of 31 men who began a five-year course of study leading to ordination to the Permanent Diaconate in the Diocese of Tyler. In 2001, he was ordained and assigned to the parish of San Augustine. He entered Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Conn., and graduated in May, 2006, and was ordained to the priesthood. He was then assigned to the Kilgore parish. |
