'Mockingbird' to be performed

The KC Theater Department will perform "To Kill a Mockingbird" at 7:30 p.m. Monday - Saturday, April 8 - 12, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13, in Van Cliburn Auditorium.

The play, dramatized by Christopher Sergel, is adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee. The play depicts the life of the young narrator, Jean Louise "Scout" Finch, and her brother, Jem, in a mid-1930s Alabama town. Through their neighborhood meanderings and the example of their father, they grow to understand the world isn't always fair.

Tickets for the play are $6 for adults, $5 for students.
