'Mockingbird' to be performed
      The KC Theater Department will perform "To Kill a Mockingbird" at 7:30 p.m. Monday - Saturday, April 8 - 12, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13, in Van Cliburn Auditorium. The play, dramatized by Christopher Sergel, is adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee.

Regional Spelling Bee Finalist
     Sanjit Lanka, fifth grader at Kilgore Intermediate School, will be in Dallas Saturday as a regional finalist in the national spelling bee competition. Sanjit is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Surya Lanka of Kilgore. The spelling bee will be broadcast on WFAA-TV of Dallas.
