Cedillo scores three for the Flames EDITOR'S NOTE: The Kilgore Soccer Association (KSA) is now playing its spring season. This roundup comes from reports submitted by league coaches. Names are spelled here in the News Herald exactly as they are printed. Reports with no first name, or incomplete names, will not be included. All reports should have complete names and the name of the opponent listed, or they won't appear in the roundup. Games are played Saturdays at the sports complex on Highway 135. This roundup will normally run on Thursdays in the News Herald sports section. Coaches reports are due by 5 p.m. on Monday. You may bring them by the office at 610 East Main Street, or fax them to (903) 984-7462. You may also e-mail them to sports@kilgorenewsherald. com. Reports will not be taken over the phone. Under-6 girls • Grasshoppers vs. Tinkerbells: For the Grasshoppers, Lauren Bryant, Rilee Bennett, Kamryn Stewart, and Madi McKay each scored; Stewart scored twice. Caydie Aiken and Gracie Vasquez were defensive standouts for coaches Brad and Liz Bryant, who said Katey Harmonson was missed last weekend. Under-8 boys • Axiom Fire vs. Henderson Lil' Arsenal: Will Shawn scored for the Fire. Other top offensive players were Trea Clayton, Caden Noah, Johnny Estrella and Caleb Bates. Brian Davis was the team's goalie. The Axiom Fire is sponsored by Perry D. Reed and Co., and coached by Jason and Teresa Lopez. • F.C. Flames vs. Lil' Dawgs: Raul Cedillo scored three goals. Alexis Castillo, Mason Cole, Maison Landaverde, Jacob Rhodes and Connor Quinlan were offensive standouts, and Tristan Bradshaw, Christopher Chavez, Tony San Juan, Braden Grush and Grayson Deshazer were top defenders. Michael Raymond was the goalkeeper. The Flames are coached by Larry Quinlan and Dion Deshazer, and sponsored by Martin Gas. Under-10 boys • Demons vs. opponent unnamed: For the Demons, Jerod Sosa, Austin Word, and Jessie Savala each scored twice. Jacob Mobbs, Ren Reynolds, Cameron Ott, Kyler Yancey, Be'La Free, and David Solis each scored a goal. Dontavian King played great offense as well, coach Mason Reynolds said. Reynolds is assisted by Keith Mobbs and Steve Hammond, and the Demons are sponsored by C.C. Forbes. Angel Peralez was missed, the coaches said. Under-10 girls • Lady Tigers 4, Flash 1: Emily Nutt and Taylor Black scored the goals for the Lady Tigers, who also got offensive support from Jamie Midkiff. Kayley Pyle and Alycia Ballard were top defenders, and Samantha Gray and Gauge Lindsey were the goalies for coach Brad Provance. |
