MAVOR BICKLEY

Graveside services for Mavor Bickley 100, of Kilgore will be at two p.m., Monday, March 10, 2008 at Pirtle Cemetery with Rev. Dudley Plaisance officiating. Mrs. Bickley died Thursday, March 6, 2008 in Kilgore.

Mavor Baton Bickley was born on October 3, 1907 on her family farm in Rusk County, which is now in Kilgore, to the late Hosea and Octavia Higganbotham Baton. She attended the Baton Schools near the Baton Community and Kilgore Schools. Mrs. Bickley was a loving homemaker and longtime member of Pirtle Methodist Church. Mavor was blessed with a wonderful life that was highlighted by her 100th birthday attended by family and longtime friends that love her dearly.

Survivors include her daughters, Clemmie Richards of Kilgore, Shirley Dimmock and her husband Earl of Jasper, One grandson, Don Richards of Denver, CO, and one granddaughter, Velda Dimmock of Beaumont; great grandson, Russell Dimmock of Beaumont, and one niece Chrissy Baton. Her husband of 68 years, Russell Bickley, two sisters, Verdie Brannam, Kathleen Farrar, and brothers, Floyd Baton, Sam Baton, and James Baton precede her in death.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M., Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the Pirtle Methodist Church, or a charity of one's choice.
