HOMER DEMPSEY

Graveside Services for Mr. Homer Dempsey, 84, of Kilgore will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend James Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Dempsey passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008 in a Longview hospital following a long illness. He was born April 27, 1923 in Houston, Texas. Homer was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War Two and the Korean War. He worked many years for Gipson Trucking and later retired from Eagle Trucking Company. He was a member of the VFW #6524 where he served has Quarter Masters and Called BINGO.

Mr. Dempsey is survived by his wife Tomma Dempsey; children, Rita Shanks of Tulsa, OK, Learlene Sanford of Tulsa, OK, David Dempsey of Odessa, TX, Cathy Nance of Tennessee and Sally Harden of Arkansas; several stepchildren and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
