Bach Festival this weekend

The Kilgore College Bach Festival will be held Saturday in the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center.

This event is held annually to offer area piano students the opportunity for formal adjudication of an original composition by J.S. Bach.

Outstanding students will be chosen to perform in the festival based on auditions during the day of the festival from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

These performers, ranging from age four to junior college age will play their original composition for the judges and receive a written critique and certificate of participation.

Sandra Siler, music instructor at KC said there will only be 25 students chosen for the performance, which begins at 7 p.m.

The concert is open to the public and free of charge, please come early and get a good seat prior to the concert beginning.
