More trophies than Twirlers

The Maud Laird Middle School twirlers recently attended the North Texas Regional competition in Grapevine, sponsored by MA Dance? Marching Auxiliaries. The girls received a superior rating first on both of their 1 and 2 baton routines. They were awared 2 team trophies that will be displayed in the band hall. These 2 routines consisted of 2-turns, bow aerials, team exchanges, and 3 baton juggles by head twirler Tori Dheil. Seventh graders Victoria Way and Rachel Wright won first runner up i the duet category also bringing home a trophy. All soloists that performed placed and also brought home a trophy: Rachel Wright, first runner up, Tori Dheil, second runner up, Morgan Corbin, third runner up, Victoria Way and Delayna Gribble tied for fourth runner up.
the maud Laird Middle School twirlers will attend three more competitions where they hope they will be just as successful. They will conclude the year with a spring show on May 10 at 2 p.m. in the MSMS gym. Admission is free. All awards will be on display. The instructor and choreographer for the twirlers is Blair Maxwell.
