Cupid takes aim at the Joy Makers

Cupid and helpers left their mark with the decorations in the Richardson Building when the Joy Makers of Forest Home Baptist Church met Tuesday, February 12, at 6 p.m. Valentine dolls, teddy bears, dishes, flowers, and candy were on each table. Upon entering, sweethearts, couples, friends with friends were photographed by Carnell and Anne of the Waller Gallery of Photos. The white picket fence draped with red tapestry, white netting with roses attached added to the beauty of each picture. Doris Snow welcomed everyone to the gathering, and Harold Ray Guinn said an special prayer for the Herman Cuncan Family. Afterwards, Doris Snow read a long list of prayer requests of church members and others sick in our community. J.C. Bearden gave the invocation and remembered those who were mentioned.

A covered-dish dinner satisfied the taste buds of everyone. All the food was excellent. It seems that Rue Taylor and Lavelle Jenkins will go to any measure to stay in trouble. At the greeting table, they had placed a jar with their names on it seeking donations to help with their expenses for the up coming Joy Maker trip to Branson. With approximately fifty cents in the jay, they might get to fide the bus to Danville.

Laverne Mercer had Carolyn Wimberely lead in the singing of "Happy Birthday" to Kenny Leonard and Elaine Campbell. Dorothy Coones was celebrating an anniversary. Last year's Valentine Sweetheats, Don and Betty Bonds, presented Travis and Betty Crews with a corsage and boutonniere for being the Sweethearts this year. The couple joined friends in singing "Let Me Call You Sweethewart". They looked liked young sweethearts while enjoying the moment.

Sue Clements introduced the program with a group called Dunn for Him. They are a Christian gospel singing group providing programs to entertain, uplift, and bring back memories. There was a mixture of love and gospel music a well as a poetry, and even Harold Ray Guinn's favorite song for his wife, "You Are My Sun Shine". They also shared that the happiest time for anyone is to be a Christian.

Those attending were Neola Leach, Banona Watson, Johnny and Sue Clements, JC and Betty Bearden, Louise McKinney, Travis and Betty Crews, Art and Doris Snow, Carnell and Anne Waller, Harold Ray and Joanne Guinn, G.O. and Elaine Woodmansee, Irene Reid, Rue Taylor, Dwight and Beverly Dorminy, Kenny Leonard, and Lavelle Jenkins.

Also at the meeting were Betty Ware, Jewel Matlock, Lee Ann Warren, Betty Lee, Mary Jane Formby, Lee and Sylvia Reid, Jim and Pam McWilliams, Laverne and Talmadge Mercer, Don and Betty Bonds, Charles and Carolyn Wimberely, and Jimmie Faye Myers.

Special guests were Pat Sheets, Mike and Gen Turney, Chelsea Warren, Clinton Edmonds, Erin Gore, James and Elaine Campbell, De De Dillard, Chris Barnes, John and Faye Dunn, Peggy Rich, Freeman Scott, Aubrey and Norma Pate and Dorothy Coones, Dovie Jones was welcomed as a new member.
