Classic Corvettes at LeTourneau University Automotive Society show

More than 80 classic and new cars will be on display at the 32nd Annual LeTourneau University Automotive Society Car Show Saturday.

The show will be at Maude Cobb Exhibition Hall, 100 Grand Blvd., Longview.

"We have more cars this year than we have ever had for the Auto Society Car show in the past 32 years," said Sean Momsen, student marketing and publicity chair. "We will showcase the evolution of the Corvette, from 1954 to the newest model. The only model year we won't have on display is the original 1953."

Momsen said the car show will feature a 900-horsepower Ford GT, along with trucks and motorcycles, some vehicles coming from as far away as Mississippi. "We expect the Model A Club to cruise into town sometime Saturday," he said.

The car show runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 1, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 2.

Handmade welded trophies will be awarded to the car owners for "People's Choice" and "Auto Society's Best in Show." Other awards include best in class for muscle cars, pony cars, motorcycles, late model cars, trucks, best paint jobs, and others.

Tickets are available at the door for $5 per person, or $2 for students with student identification. Children under 12 get in free. Proceeds benefit missions.
