LESTER MURRAY

ON Saturday, March 1, in the ballroom of the Devall Student Center at 7:30 p.m. a free keyboard orchestra concert will feature Dennis Mauricio as the guest conductor and performer.

Also performing with Mauricio are members of the Kilgore College Keyboard Orchestra which includes Jean Ive Amouou from Cameroon, Africa; Joanna Burroughs and Jessica Morris from Henderson; Kayla Kinkaid from Paris; Heather Newman from Mt. Pleasant; Luis Perez from Kilgore: Katie Roll from Longview; Michael Williams from Marshall and Micah Behr from Big Sandy.

Performances feature original keyboard orchestra compositions by Mauricio, as well as several of the students' works.

The Kilgore Keyboard Orchestra is under the direction of Sandra Siler.

THE MUSICAL BOOM will be presented March 8, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30

p.m. in the Kilgore High School Auditorium. It is sponsored by the Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation. General admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at Texas Bank and Trust in downtown Longview and at Kilgore National Bank in Kilgore. They will be available at the door one hour prior to performances. A rehearsal performance is open to the public on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will be available only at the door.

THE KILGORE High School Oil Belt Classic is underway at Driller Park with the Bulldogs taking on Lindale tonight at 6 p.m. See full details on the tournament in yesterdays Kilgore News Herald Sports Edition and times for games through Saturday.

ON TUESDAY, Kilgore Heights Elementary School will present a music program in their school auditorium. There will be two performances, one at 9:30 a.m. and one at 6 p.m.

DON'T forget tomorrow at the First Baptist Church in Kilgore, Habitat for Humanity will be holding its annual Chili Bowl Luncheon starting at 11 a.m. First Baptist is located at 501 E. North St. Tickets are $5 per person and are available at the door. Eat in or carry out.
