GREGG COUNTY SPELLING BEE

A student from Kilgore intermediate school won the Gregg County spelling bee here Friday. Sanjit Lanka will advance to the Regional Spelling Bee in Dallas on March 15. Second place in the Gregg County competition was claimed by Grant Gonzales of the Christian Home Educators Cooperative. Cheryl Halla, Intermediate School principal, was the Gregg County coordinator this year. Co-coordinators were Simone Gill and Kim Hughes. Latane Speer was head judge and Elwyn Bone was the pronouncer.
