CHITCHAT CORNER
When in Rome
LINDA K. BALLARD

When in Rome, you will want to do exactly what Jackie and Vickie did - have a great time. "It was awesome," said Jackie. "Vickie took 550-560 pictures and she developed everyone of them. "I think it was more like 516 pictures," said Vickie. "And I'm proud of everyone of them." The Clayton's joined 300 others in Rome as part of a grocery supply conference and then extended the trip with friends Dennis and Teresa Smart. They took a train to Florence and from there on to Venice. "We tried to hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa and we saw the statue of David by Michelangelo," she said. "We hired a private tour guide," said Jackie. "And he took us to as many places as possible in the few days that we were there. There are over 400 churches in Florence and the basilica's were gorgeous. A lot of sight seeing and walking took place in Florence, but in Venice it was shopping - lots of high end shopping," he laughed. Would they go back again? "In a heartbeat," said Vickie. (Can't wait to see those pictures.)

The Clayton's were not the only ones to slip away from Kilgore, although this

trip was much shorter for

J.B. and Camelia Pace, owners of Alford & Pace A/C & Heating, Inc. A two day Johnson Supply and YORK 2008 Dealers Meeting took place recently at the Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas. Also attending the meeting from Kilgore representing the Dallas region was Betty Baker, office manager and her spouse, Jimmy and granddaughter, Rebecca Garrison.

Three awards were received by J. B. Pace during the convention including Top York Residential AOR Sales for 2007, York Climate Commander Dealer 2007 and an award for Recognition of Exceptional Sales & Service in 2007. Family members not attending the meetings were given day passes to enjoy the Moody Garden attractions such as the Aquarium Pyramid, Rainforest Pyramid, Discovery Museum; view artifacts from the Titanic or enjoy swimming.

Teresa and Cliff Packer have slipped off to Meridian, Mississippi to the naval base to help son, Dustin, celebrate his 24th birthday. (Like he needed help in celebrating, mom & dad.)

Donna Van Meter said her son Nick was home last weekend in time to see the newspaper clipping of his dog Eli. "He was so excited about it," said Donna. (Nick, not the dog.) "Now, the picture is proudly being displayed on my refrigerator door," she said. (Some people may wear their heart on their sleeve, but, for Eli, his was naturally designed on his coat.)

Okay, I heard it on the radio and now I want to hear it from you. What is good for charley horses and foot cramps? "Place a bar of soap in between your sheets of your bed," it was told on the station. Do you agree?
