THELMA GUESS

Services for Thelma Guess, 88, of Kilgore will be two p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at Highland Park Baptist Church with Rev. Riley Pippen officiating. Burial will follow in Pirtle Cemetery. Mrs. Guess died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 in Longview.

She was born Feb. 7, 1920 in Bertice, Mississippi. Thelma graduated High School in Ludlow, MS. In 1941, she married Ray Guess. The Guess's moved to Kilgore in 1943. She worked for Kilgore College in the cafeteria for 18 years. Mrs. Guess was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church where she was the past Sunday School teacher and member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.

She is survived by three sons, Lawrence Guess and his wife Jan of Richmond, Eddie Guess of Broomfield, Colorado, Mike Guess and his wife Mary Ann of Grand Prairie; one daughter, Sandra Forrester and her husband Tom of Blackstone, Virginia; a sister, Lena Pearl Westerfield of Pearl, Mississippi; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Guess was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Bobby Guess and a granddaughter, Karen Guess Crisswell.

Memorial contributions may be made the Highland Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 2424 Henderson Boulevard, Kilgore, Texas 75662.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between six and seven-thirty p.m.
