Also performing with Mauricio are members of the Kilgore College Keyboard Orchestra which includes Jean Ive Amouou from Cameroon, Africa; Joanna Burroughs and Jessica Morris from Henderson; Kayla Kinkaid from Paris; Heather Newman from Mt. Pleasant; Luis Perez from Kilgore: Katie Roll from Longview; Michael Williams from Marshall and Micah Behr from Big Sandy. Performances feature original keyboard orchestra compositions by Mauricio, as well as several of the students' works. The Kilgore Keyboard Orchestra is under the Direction of Sandra Siler Siler said Mauricio has developed and taught technology arts courses and curriculum at the secondary level since 1987, including Introduction to Music Technology, Music Tech Ensemble, Music Engineering, Music Business, Multimedia Arts, and Digital Photography. He teaches at Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, California. Mauricio holds a Master of Science in Educational Technology from National University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition from Point Loma Nazarene University. He is a national advisory board member and certified instructor for the Technology Institute for Music Educators (TIME), has served on the technology committee for the International Jazz Educator's Association (IAJE), and is the Technology Representative for the California Music Educators Association (CMEA). Siler said Mauricio is a music education technology consultant and clinician for Roland Corporation U. S. and for the Berkley College of Music. He has presented at conferences and workshops throughout the United States. Mauricio is the author of Roland's Music Mentor series books, co-author of Fundamentals of Music Technology, and has been published in several of MENC's Strategies for Teaching series. He is also an active composer and arranger of works for tech ensembles published by Ogilvy Music. |
