Main Street lights to commemorate the downtown What do you give the person who has everything? Fallon Burns, Main Street manager, said the answer to that question is "lights." Kilgore Main Street is selling strands of colored lights that will shine at a downtown intersection all through the holidays. Each strand will sell for $250 and come with documentation of the strand's dedication. "We are not selling the strands to raise funds," Fallon Burns, Main Street manager, said. "We simply want to dedicate the strands, to let people be a part of downtown and to allow us to use additional funds we already have set aside, for the replacement of our white lights." According to Burns, the colored LED lights being sold by Main Street burn brighter and longer and are still representative of Kilgore's historic past. "The streets of Kilgore were once decorated with lots of colored lights," Burns said. "We want that to happen again." According to Burns, Main Street will only hang the number of lights sold in the coming months in November. Only 22 strands are available for purchase. Contact Burns at 903-984-5081 for purchase information. |
