The current KC Chorale performed first under the direction of Ryan Kelly, Chorale director. The alumni then took the stage, 90 strong, directed by Dr. Dale Miller, who was the Chorale director from 1982 through 1995. The final performance was by the alumni was conducted by Dr. Paul Neal, who was the Chorale director from 1999 to 2004. Melvin Marshall spoke to the audience about the Chorale and the performing arts. Marshall was the first director of the KC Chorale, from 1968 to 1976. Dr. Bill Holda, now college president, also addressed the audience. Holda was the Chorale director in the spring of 1977. The KC Chorale has been singing for 40 years. In that time the group has toured in United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, Austria, France, New York City and its latest tour was in Washington D.C. The Chorale gives singers positive and rewarding experiences as they perform a variety of unaccompanied, accompanied and orchestral works, regularly tour and continue a tradition of offering excellent choral performances. Each year the Chorale performs a Masterworks concert, this year it will feature a performance of Maurice Durufle's Requiem. |
