DAILY DIGEST MONDAY THE MONTHLY MEETING OF THE KILGORE BAND BOOSTERS will be held Monday, February 11 - instead of the regular 2nd Tuesday - in the high school band hall at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend. TUESDAY THE KHS WAR YEARS GROUP will meet Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. for their monthly lunch/meeting at Olive Garden, 104 W. Loop 281, Longview. WEDNESDAY CIVIC GARDEN CLUB will meet Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 9:30 a.m., at the Community House. Linda Whetsell, South Central Region Director of Texas Garden Clubs, Inc., will present a program on "Clean Air in the Home." Members are urged to bring horticulture specimens and floral designs. SATURDAY THE KILGORE HIGH SCHOOL HI-STEPPER DANCE CAMP will be held on Saturday, March 8 from 9 a.m. to noon in Kilgore High School Gym. Anyone, kindergarten through 8th grade can sign up at a cost of $20 per person. A camp T-shirt and snack are included in the price. SUNDAY MACEDONIA BAPTIST CHURCH will be having a Black History Program, 3 p.m., Sunday, February 17. The church is located FMR 850E., Overton. Guest Speaker will be Rev. Ronald Fields, and Union Grove Baptist Church Family. Host Pastoo is Rev. Willie H. Bryant, Jr. THE NEW PLAINSMEN GOSPEL QUARTET will be in concert at Danville United Methodist Church beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 10. It is free to the public. THE JOY CIRCLE OF THE KILGORE BAPTIST CHURCH presents "Getting It Done" at their "Annual Tea" on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m. The church is located at 1310 S. Commerce St., Kilgore. FYI TICKETS TO "BOOM" ARE NOW ON SALE AT KILGORE NATIONAL BANK AND AT TEXAS BANK & TRUST IN DOWNTOWN LONGVIEW. Reserved seats are $20 and general admission tickets are $10. "Boom" is advertised as "a musical about ... US." The story is about the discovery of the East Texas oil field and will be performed at Kilgore High School on March 8. FRIENDS OF KILGORE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOOK SALE Hundreds of new books are hiding in the Kilgore Public Library basement. Friends of Kilgore Public Library sell hardbacks for $1, paperbacks for 50 cents and magazines for 10 cents. Library hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. |
