KC sends several to 4-year programs
JUNIOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL
By MITCH LUCAS sports@kilgorenewsherald.com

Signing day is always bittersweet for Kilgore College's football coaches and fans, because even though it means a new group of freshmen is coming in, it also means players fans have gotten used to seeing are departing.

That's the case, of course, again this year. Yesterday in the News Herald we talked about the new signees, and about wide receiver T.J. Scranton signing with Baylor. Here are the remainder of players transferring to four-year programs:

• Defensive end Kendal Abron is off to Louisiana College.

• Safety Cody Ball will transfer to Midwestern State.

• Another safety, A.J. Billings, will transfer to Texas A&M-Commerce.

• As mentioned in Thursday's sports section, offensive lineman Brad Guillory has signed with Arkansas State, and linemate Anthony Holder with Texas State. Also, Robin Williams has signed with Emporia State.

• Also mentioned in Thursday's paper, cornerback Jamall Skipper has signed with Sam Houston State, and both of the Rangers' experienced quarterbacks are moving on: Logan Morris to Texas A&MKingsville and Jared Wallace to Bellhaven.

• The trio of young running backs the Rangers had will now become a duo. Prince McKinney, an Oklahoma native, is transferring to Northeast State University. Cornelius Shackelford and LaRon Elmer will return.

• Wide receiver Earnest Quander and safety Shea Rodriguez will join Billings at TAMC.

• Cornerback Kedric Manning is headed to Troy University (in south Alabama).

• Defensive end Tony Johnson and linebacker Jarrod McCarty are both headed to Southwest Baptist.
