KHS, Sabine girls to play games to settle byes
HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
By MITCH LUCAS sports@kilgorenewsherald.com

DEFENSE! - Kilgore's Tai'Shea Reese (10) guards a Henderson player. Reese and the Lady Bulldogs face Nacogdoches at Henderson on Saturday night.
A couple of area girls basketball teams will get to meet their biggest rivals for the third time this season this weekend, and byes in the first round of the postseason are the prizes.

Tonight, the Sabine High School Lady Cardinals, coached by Paul Bell, will meet District 15-3A rival Spring Hill once more, this time with that firstround bye at stake. The Lady Cardinals and Lady Panthers each finished 9-1 in district play, and share the district championship. The game will be played this afternoon at Gladewater High at 4 p.m.

The winner will be off in the bidistrict round, scheduled to begin the early portion of the week. The loser will face Pittsburg, although the time and date for that potential game hasn't been set.

Kilgore's Lady Bulldogs (15- 8) will once again see Nacogdoches this time on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Henderson High School. It's much the same situation as Sabine: KHS and Nac are the co-district champions. If Kilgore wins Saturday's game, they're off for the bidistrict round, and won't play until Friday against a Dallas-area school. The loser of tomorrow's Kilgore Nac game will play Tuesday against Lindale, but a time and place haven't yet been set.

Kilgore and Nac each went 12-2 in District 12-4A.
