SELMA VOWELL

A private memorial service for Selma Vowell, 79, of Longview will be held at a later date. Ms. Vowell passed away Sunday morning in a local nursing home. Cremation arrangements are with Rader Funeral Home of Longview.

Selma was born on Feb. 29, 1928 in Depew, Oklahoma to Tim and Laura Dennis. She was a Real Estate Broker for many years and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Vowell; brothers, Nick Dennis and Jim Dennis; and sister Edith Fry.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Steve Summers of Knoxville, TN; sons and daughters-inlaw, Tim and Leah Propes of Lake Cherokee, and Kelly and Diana Propes of Spring Hill; sisters, Mary Smith of Longview, and Geraldine Schwartz of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren, Stephanie Summers, Gabe Summers, Lillian Propes, and Austin Propes.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her memory to UCPWORC, c/o Geraldine Schwartz, 1420 S. Peninsula Drive, Daytona Beach, FL32118. This is a foundation that benefits people with mental retardation.
