Emerson "Too Tight" Smith

Funeral services for Emerson "Too Tight" Smith, 75, of Kilgore will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at St. John Baptist Church with Minister Wesly Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.

Emerson, better known as "Too Tight" was born in Kilgore, on May 5, 1932 to the parentage of Nina Smith. He left this earthly home to be with our heavenly father on Feb. 3, 2008.

He was a member ofSt. John Baptist Church. He was self-employed as a dump truck drive and his favorite pastime was hunting.

He attended Steber Grove Public Schools.

His parents, brother, a son, Larry Smith, a sister, Annie Walker and five brothers, John, Herman, Tot, Joe, and Harry Smith all preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory to his two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Clark of Kilgore and Djuana and Paul Darden of Longview; two sons, Melvin Williams of Henderson, and Bryan Smith of Kilgore; seven grandsons, four granddaughters and seven greatgrandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Victory Funeral Services.
