Spring wedding for Godfrey and Thurman

Scott Thurman and Autria Godfrey

Shelly and Pete Godfrey of Kilgore are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Autria Rae Godfrey of Charlottesville, Virginia, to Scott William Thuman of Alexandria, Virginia. Mr. Thuman is the son of Pat and Ray Thuman of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Autria's paternal grandparents are Peter Godfrey of Longview and the late Betty Godfrey. Her maternal grandparents are Maureen Broadwater of Kilgore and the late Dan Broadwater.

Scott's paternal grandparents are the late Frank and Virginia Thuman. His maternal grandparents are the late William and Helen Fowler.

The bride elect graduated from Sabine High School, attended American University in Washington, D.C., and graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in College Station, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism and minor in Communications. She is the morning news anchor for Good Morning Charlottesville, the CBS affiliate in Charlottesville, Virginia. She is also the in-game host for the Washington Wizards, the NBA team in Washington, D.C.

The prospective groom graduated from Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida, and Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication and minor in Spanish. He works as a television news reporter/anchor for the ABC affiliate, WJLA, in Washington, D.C. covering political and national news.

The wedding ceremony is planned for April 12, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Kilgore.
