Hawes and Murphy united in marriage

Miss Brooke Shannon Hawes and Mr. Patrick Edward Murphy were united in marriage on Saturday, January 26, 2008, in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at seven o'clock in the evening. The candlelight ceremony was officiated by Father Frank Fabji Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a dinner reception at the Hotel ZaZa. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bride's parents at Cabo Original Tex Mex Grill. Earlier that day, a luncheon was hosted for the bridal party by the bride and her mother at the Beautique Day Spa and Salon.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Robert A. Johnigan of Houston, TX and the late Roy "Stoney" Hawes. The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Milos of Galveston, TX and the late Charles D. Milos, Sr., the late Mr. And Mrs. Jack R. Hawes, Jr., Mrs. JoAnne Johnigan of Baton Rouge, LA and the late William E. Johnigan.

The groom is the son of Ms. Judy Murphy of San Antonio, TX and the late Kenneth Jones. He is the grandson of Mrs. Gene Murphy of Kilgore, TX and the late Julian E. Murphy.

Mrs. Rebekah Frances McAdams, of Pearland, TX, served as Matron of Honor. Miss Kimberly Anne Ahrens of Houston, TX, served as Maid of Honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Alison Lane Brown of Houston, TX, Miss Kristin Ann Foster of Houston, TX, Mrs. Amanda Conti Hawes of Galveston, TX, Mrs. Melissa Ruth McGraw of Houston, TX and Miss Elva Marie Van of El Paso, TX.. Miss Audrey Brigham Finn served as the flower girl. Mrs. Dodie Katherine Darlow read scriptures during the ceremony.

Mr. James Daniel Foster, of Houston, TX, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Eric Brigham Finn, of Houston, TX, Mr. Sean Rust Hawes, brother of the bride, of Galveston, TX, Mr. Martin James Kelly, of Houston, TX, Mr. James Patrick Leif, of Houston, TX, Mr. John Clifford McLean, of Helotes, TX and Mr. Thomas Francis Vickers, IV, of San Antonio, TX.

Brooke is a 2003 graduate of the University of Houston, receiving two Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications and is an alumnae of Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity. She is the owner and operator of Gift Basket Girl, Corporate and Special Occasion Gifts.

Patrick received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is a 2001 graduate of the University of Houston Law School. Patrick co-owns and operates the Houston office of the Law Firm of Murphy & Vickers, P.C. specializing in corporate and transactional law and is general counsel for Dobbins Bio-Fuels, Ltd.

The wedding weekend concluded with a brunch hosted by the families in the Fountain Room at the Hotel ZaZa.

Patrick and Brooke plan to spend their honeymoon in Aruba. They will make their home in Houston, TX.
