CARTER AND Ashley Stanley have enbarked on a great adventure.

HE is a 2000 graduate of Sabine High School (she's from Pine Tree and was a Kilgore College cheerleader) and after finishing at SHS, Carter played football at Mississippi State. Both are fitness fanatics.

THEY'VE now bought a gym in Tupelo, Miss.

FOR now, Carter still works for Pioneer Drilling. Ashley is in Tupelo, managing The Academy Gym during the week. Carter commutes to Mississippi every time his Pioneer schedule allows.

ASHLEY is a nurse and worked in Longview until

they decided on the business venture that's taking them to the southeast. Carter hopes that the gym will do well enough - soon - that he can give up his job in the oil field and join Ashley at the gym on a fulltime basis.

THE Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation's cookbook - with 400 recipes submitted by dozens of individuals - is about to go the publisher.

BUT... Of those submissions, three are from "submitter" unknown.

IF you or someone you know sent any of the recipes described below, please let KHPF know. These were not written on the official form so "submitted by" was not written on the recipe.

THE unidentified recipes include: A photocopy of Barbara Richardson's column in the Longview News for "Lemony Angel Cake"; A recipe for "Broccoli Cornbread" which is different than one submitted by Janie Edmonds "Turkey Gumbo" with a note that it is from Justin Wilson's cookbook.

TO identify the submitter, call the KHPF cookbook committee at 903-983- 8170.

TO the family of Jim Oubre: thank you for sharing Jim with Kilgore. We're grateful for the time we had with him. We, too, will miss his presence, his efforts and his huge smile.
